Concrete cutting is one of the initial services that A-Core offers. With an extensive supply of diamond tools, A-Core is qualified and properly equipped to handle concrete cutting projects of any size. At A-Core, we can handle any concrete cutting need that comes our way.
Flat sawing
Our Flat Sawing services are typically utilized when cutting is required on a flat surface. Concrete and Asphalt saw cutting is needed when a section needs to be replaced. A nice straight clean edge can make pouring or paving up to much easier. We have the ability to cut asphalt and concrete up to 27” thick. A diesel or gas saw is utilized for exterior work and we have several 480V electric flat saws throughout the company for interior work.
wall sawing
Wall saws are used when a straight clean cut is required such as doorways, and windows or, if large sections of concrete wall need to be removed. These saws mount directly to the cutting surface and run along a rail system. This ensures a perfectly straight cut is made. We have the ability to spin up to an 80” diameter blade. Wall Saws we use are hydraulic powered or 480V electric which have a remote control to operate them.
Wire sawing
A wire saw is typically used when the material or structure needing to be cut, is large, awkward shaped, or thick. A steel braded cable has diamond beads attached to it allowing it cut through concrete, steel, rock/stone, and block. The wire is wrapped around the surface being cut, routed with pulleys to keep it cutting where we want it too, and back to the saw. The saw will pull the wire, continuously keeping tension on the wire as it cuts. Many historical projects A-Core has completed over the years, were completed with a wire saw system.
Hand Sawing
Hand Saw, Ring Saw, Chain Saws are used for many different applications. Hand Sawing is used for cutting slab and small openings through concrete walls. Ring Saws are used as finishing tools, allowing our operators to eliminate overcuts on the corners of an opening up to 12” thick. A chain saw is another finishing tool, typically used to eliminate overcuts on openings however, these saws have the capability of cutting up to 24” thick.
curb cutting
Curb Machines are mainly used to sawcut the high back section of curb and gutter, when customers are looking to add a driveway approach or enlarge their curb approach. This machine allows us to cut from the street side of the curb vs. excavating and wall sawing from the back side. We can cut curbs on flat ground, on slopes, and curbs with bends in it. The county or city will dictate how large the approach can be and also the slope of the wings. We have the ability to meet all standards and specifications with our curb saws. Many new subdivisions have the roadway and curbing installed before the houses are built. Once you decide where the house is going to go and your driveway will be, we can then mobilize out to cut your curb. We also utilize these machines when cutting curbing on bridge decks, cutting motor pads off a slab, and barrier walls.
