Motorcycle Parade Impacts
Held on Saturday, July 13, 2024, visitors to Gettysburg National Military Park (NMP) and Eisenhower National Historic Site (NHS) will be impacted by the motorcycle parade that travels on the Emmitsburg Road and Baltimore Street. Traffic disruptions will likely exist for 60 minutes from approximately 4:45 pm through 5:45 pm.
This event involves hundreds, or even thousands, of motorcyclists riding from the Allstar complex (a few miles south of the battlefield), north on the Emmitsburg Road into town, then north on Baltimore Street to the traffic circle in the middle of town, then back down Baltimore Street and Emmitsburg Road to the Allstar complex.
The National Park Service has no administrative authority on either of the two roads involved and this event requires numerous closures of park roads and causes major disruptions for both parks.
